Hello! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I received my BA in Psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I completed my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Adler University in Chicago, IL. I spent the first seven years of my therapy career working in community mental health agencies with children and families in mostly rural communities. I have spent the last three years developing my specialities and clinical strengths in a group practice setting. As I work to build this solo practice, I have thought a great deal about the client population I feel drawn to serve. I have a specific passion for working with LGBTQIA+ teens, adults, and families; I work hard to make my therapy space a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment to honor all identities. Through my own personal experience of infant loss and postpartum anxiety, and by accompanying my sister through years of infertility, I have also found it a great privilege to specialize in perinatal, postpartum, and infertility mental health care. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and have worked extensively with survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse.
We provide therapy services in two spaces; one in my home for telehealth sessions, and one in downtown Puyallup for in-person sessions. During the pandemic, we learned that telehealth can make mental health care much more accessible.
Are you craving that in-person connection again and you would prefer to meet with a therapist
face-to-face?
Is working with your therapist from the comfort of your own couch, bed, office, or car the best fit for you?
One-on-one therapy for teens, young adults, and adults
Therapy for families to see each other in new ways and deepen connection
*While these services are not billable through insurance, I can provide the above supports at an hourly rate of $40/hour.
My out-of-pocket rate is $150 per 50-minute session. Cost should not be a barrier to you receiving good care. I am willing to negotiate a sliding fee rate!
I value openness. If you are to trust me with your story, I believe it’s important for me to be transparent about my own values and beliefs.
I value collaboration. I will work with you to develop your goals and hopes for therapy. I enjoy working alongside other providers and helping you build your support team.
I value accompaniment. I will accompany you as you tell, process, claim, and rewrite your story to become the person you have always been and have wanted to be. You will not be alone in your healing.
My graduate school training was in marriage and family therapy. This means that I use systems theory to guide my understanding of your current challenges and strengths. Your family system, your cultural and identity contexts, and your lived experiences have shaped you.
At some point in your therapy journey, I will likely encourage you to include your partner, child, parent, school, or other external supports in the process. We were born into relationship. We thrive when our systems are integrated into our care.
